As opposed to a Tikka Masala, which is a curry, a Tikka is a dry dish (sort of like a Tandoori) - basically marinated meat or veggies usually served on a skewer. Our Tikka paste combines authentic spices with paprika, cumin, ginger, garlic and tamarind, and blended with yogurt, it makes a delicious marinade. Tantalisingly tasty when used on meat, seafood & vegetables and grilled.
Ingredients: Water, Ground Spices (22%) [Paprika (11%), Coriander (7%), Spices, Cumin], Rapeseed Oil (4%), Acids (Acetic Acid, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid), Salt, Tamarind (2.5%), Modified Maize Starch.
Chicken Tikka Recipe - Serves 2
250g Large Diced Chicken Pieces
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 Medium Onion,Diced
60g Patak's Tikka Curry Paste
2tbsp Plain Yoghurt (60ml)
Mixed Salad Leaves
Lemon Slices to Garnish
Mix together Patak's Tikka Curry Paste, oil and yoghurt with chicken pieces.
Marinade meat for a few hours or overnight for a fuller flavour.
Bake chicken uncovered in oven at 180°C / 350°F / gas mark 4 until cooked or alternatively BBQ or grill.
Garnish with lemon slices and serve hot or cold with mixed salad and Raita.
Equally delicious with fish, lamb, or prawns.
