Garam Masala Curry Paste (Cinnamon and Ginger) Hot


Garam masala is one of the key ingredients in Indian cuisine, but rather than being a type of spice, it is actually a special blend of spices. It has been said that many Indian households have their own top secret mix of garam masala. Ours is secret too, but what we can tell you is it contains the luscious flavours of cinnamon, cardamom blended with other authentic spices, and it does makes a truly tasty dish.

Ingredients - Vegetable Oil, Water, Salt, Cinnamon (7%), Ginger (6%), Black Pepper, Concentrated Tomato Puree, Sugar, Maize Flour, Cardamon, Coriander, Acetic Acid, Cumin, Spices (contains Mustard).

Masala Chicken Curry Recipe - Serves 2


2 tbsp Vegetable Oil

1 Medium Onion, Diced

60g Patak's Garam Masala Curry Paste

250g Diced Chicken Breast

200g Fresh or Canned Chopped Tomatoes

2-3 Fresh Curry Leaves (optional)

2 tsp Fresh Chopped Coriander Leaf (optional)

½tsp Coarse Ground Black Pepper Sugar to Taste


In a medium sized pan, gently fry the onions in oil until golden.

Stir in Patak's Garam Masala Curry Paste, add tomatoes, sugar and half of the chopped coriander. Mix well.

Add a little water if needed, cover pan and simmer on a low heat for 10mins.

Add fish steaks and spoon over sauce. Cover and cook for a further 10-15mins on a low heat.

Serve garnished with the remaining chopped coriander leaf and black pepper.

Equally delicious with chicken, beef, lamb or vegetables.
