Overview
Madras Curry Powder Hot

Avialable in 100gm jars

An authentic blend of exotic spices used by generations since the days of the Raj. Excellent for adding flavour to sauces, soups and rice. Use wherever a curried flavour is required.

Curry powder is a British invention, not Indian. It was invented as an attempt to capture the "curry" flavour of Indian food loved by the British Raj without the need for grinding, roasting and blending fresh spices. The recipes for curry powder vary enormously and can contain up to 20 spices in a single blend. Ours contains a blend of 11 spices typical of a traditional recipe and has been blended in this way for more than 40 years.

Culinary Uses: Curry powder is used whenever a general "curry" flavour is required. Commonly used to flavour soups and stews and also used to add a kick to sauces, marinades or mayonnaise. Can also be used to flavour chicken, tuna, burgers, grilled meats, pasta and potato salads. As curry powder is a blend of ground spices it can quickly lose its pungency when opened and should therefore be replaced avery few months.
