Patak's Jalfrezi Spice Paste 283g

Jalfrezi is a hugely popular curry on Indian restaurant and takeaway menus in the UK. Our delicious version is medium spiced, and combines a lovely rich tomato taste, with authentic spices and the delectable flavours of coconut, sweet pepper and coriander. Delicious, and couldn't be easier - and all you need to do is pour it over meat and cook.

Ingredients - Vegetable Oil, Water, Onion Powder (9%), Paprika, Dried Red and Green Peppers (6%), Salt, Coriander, Dessicated Coconut (5%), Concentrated Tomato Puree (3%), Maize Starch, Sugar, Garlic, Acetic Acid, Dried Coriander Leaf, Spices (contains Mustard), Tamarind, Ginger, Lactic Acid.

Chicken Jalfrezi Recipe - Serves 2


1 tbsp Vegetable Oil

1 Medium Onion, Sliced

70g Patak's Jalfrezi Curry Paste

250g Diced Chicken Breast

200g Fresh or Canned Chopped Tomatoes

1 Medium Red or Green Pepper Sliced

1 tsp Fresh Chopped Coriander Leaf (optional)

100ml Water


In a medium sized pan, gently fry onions in oil until golden. 

Stir in Patak's Jalfrezi Curry Paste, add chicken and fry until sealed.

Add tomatoes, water and pepper, mix well and cover pan.

Simmer on a low heat for 20mins until meat is cooked.

Serve garnished with chopped coriander leaf (optional).

Equally delicious with beef, lamb or vegetables.

For a hot Jalfrezi add a few fresh, sliced chillies during cooking.
